I've come back to this picture several times now wondering if a critique should even be written- because truly, I think this wonderful piece of art is very close to being perfect! What would make it even more spectacular I have no clue. Although I have no advice off the top of my head to give you, I CAN tell you what I admire about this photo. The lighting used gives off quite a beautiful and sensual shade which softly highlights the fair shade of her (or your) complexion. The way it bounces off of the mirror adds to this affect and gives it such a strong impact which really makes the viewer "stop and stare" so to speak. The blue sheets add to this technique quite a bit, and shows off the very soft, gentle, fragile and relaxing appeal to which the girl has the exact expression of. Overall extraordinary. Keep up the wonderful work!
Arresting is one of many descriptive words one might apply. Every aspect of the photographic art along with many aspects of art in general are evident in this exquisite portrait. The lighting clearly has much to do with the overall effect of the centrally posed model. The warm skin on subdued cool colors adds to the mood created by soft focus background giving a sensual serenity to the model looking at the observer. The devotion to craft powerfully evident in this among others by this artist. Of the many wonderful photos by the artist, this work in my estimation is a masterpiece.
The difference between the two pictures you have of her is striking, in this one she seems very self aware and sexual. In the other (Iren-396900368) she seems child-like even though you can see the adult form under the dress.
I absolutely LOVE the depth you achieved here! Not just from the shallow DoF, but the lighting is Simply Stunning! Wonderful achievement from a technical standpoint.
Emotionally this image is captivating to me. Her short hair adds to a very youthful appearance, and her pose suggests to me a simple shyness, but her expression, looking straight at you is Defiant and Strong...as if she's daring you to look.
I don't know how much of this was your intention...but that is my first reaction to it.
