Let us first take a look at the girl who seems to be quite athletic. I wonder where she is looking at ... perhaps she is shy because I am looking at her. That produces some sort of mystery and makes here even more desirable - aesthetically spoken. The pencils in her hand show us that she is painter or the assistant of the painter (the photographer / the observer). It could also mean that we are in the beginning of a body-paint-session. I am not sure what she holds in her other hand. A plate to mix colors!? I don't care. The blue stuff hides some important regions but I like the style.
Then the details in the background that are very important to me. On the left we have a dominance of black. On the right there is the light in yellow color. So we get a very nice contradiction with herself in the middle. It could also be interpretated as her spirit - the good side and the bad side. She is aware of the sins she did and regrets them. Why? Because she is looking down in sorrow. Anyway I don't want to over-interprete that aspect. The photos on the wall don't tell me anything. There are old houses and the one in the middle has a russian (?) inscription... the photos seem to have nothing in common with her. So it must be stuff from the atelier or wherever we are. About the sticks on the left, I have no idea about them.
There are two things that disturb me a little bit. The blurred table on the lower right and her white knee socks. Why? Because the fuzzy thing points to her leg and here we have the white (innocence!) color of the socks and above a black shadow that leads directly to her secret region that is fully naked.
But I am always too deep into color symbolism and the photo is great because of the contrasts and the possibilities to interpretate.
